Kilmarnock Football Club has announce that a new three-year partnership has been signed with sportswear brand hummel, after the club agreed terms to its most lucrative ‘technical kit supplier’ deal to date.
Following news that hummel’s exclusive UK brand partner – Elite Sports Group – had gone into administration late last year, Kilmarnock worked alongside Everton, Coventry City and Southampton to support a consortium created to rebuild hummel’s operations team within the UK.
Infrastructure that existed internationally has since been protected as part of the new agreement to ensure that hummel’s quality and standards are maintained, with ‘Sports Pro’ now taking position as the UK licence holder of the hummel brand.
The club will now continue to form a key part of hummel’s European community, alongside the likes of Real Betis, FC Koln, Brondby, Saint Etienne and the Danish National Team.
In a new deal that features the most profitable terms to date for Kilmarnock, the Men’s, Women’s and Academy squads will continue to be supplied with bespoke hummel playing and training wear until 2026.
Gregg McEwan, General Manager of Kilmarnock Football Club, commented: “The relationship between hummel and Kilmarnock has grown from strength to strength since an initial deal was agreed in the Summer of 2020, with supporters’ recognition of Hummel’s outstanding quality of design and material contributing to peak levels of shirt sales during this period.”
“I am delighted that the majority of the key hummel UK staff have transferred over to the new company, as this will allow us to continue to build on great existing relationships. With some exciting creations in the pipeline for next season and the seasons ahead, our supporters should be excited about what’s to come.”
“We’re proud of how highly hummel value their association with the club and look forward to building on what has already been a very successful partnership.”
Chris Kirby, CEO of SportsPro, who exclusively hold the rights to hummel in the United Kingdom and Ireland, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be joining Kilmarnock FC on their journey. We believe with our support, not just on the field, but also off it, we can really engage with the community of Kilmarnock to grow both brands.”
